STAND UP FOR JESUS MINISTRIES
our story
Stand Up For Jesus Ministries was incorporated on December 8, 2011as a religious corporation under the leadership of Pastor Dani Yap Cunanan who is the founding pastor of the church.
SUp4J Ministries was born on March 2009 as a bible study being held at Pastor Dani's house in Glendale, California, with only eight members. The bible study was being conducted every Monday night. Week after week, members no only grew spiritually, but it also grew in numbers.

In 2011, a larger facility was needed due to the growing number of participants in the Stand Up For Jesus bible study. After much prayer and discernment, the group was moved to share space facilities with Living Hope Christian Fellowship. It is also this year when the annual family camp called "Endure" began.

With the start of the SUp4J bible study group, more families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors started to attend. The guests often asked "What church is SUp4J affiliated with?" and "What time is your Sunday Service grew and the Lord put into the hearts of Pastor Dani and all the SUp4J members to make it happen.

In April 2012, SUp4J had its first service on a Resurrection Sunday at Maple Park. After that, the need to locate a facility available every day became necessary.

In the middle of June 2012, a vision was given to Pastor Dani about the "Upper Room", like that of where Jesus and his disciples would meet, pray, and also where Jesus taught. This Upper Room vision is what led to the first SUp4J church location on Brand Blvd. After the physical establishment of the Sup4J church on the 2nd floor of a building on Chevy Chase and Brand, the rise of specific ministries came about - Gate Keepers (men), Light Keepers (women), New Creation (youth and young adult), Kids Up for Jesus, and Outreach Ministry.

In 2016, with the ever growing size and need of space, SUp4J said goodbye to the 2nd floor on Brand and moved to their current location which is at the ground level of Chevy Chase. This place is nicknamed "The Narrow Way", based on Jesus' teaching about who will reach heaven and because the church's entrance on the side of the building is narrow.

In 2017, the Christian Education/New Members Ministry was formed. Along with the other ministries, it continues to serve the Lord and reach out to those in need of the Word.

From that time onwards, the church has been a faithful witness of the Gospel of the Lord God Jesus Christ, who powerfully and faithfully PROCLAIM AND PREACH CHRIST.
